Charles "Duffy" Jernigan, Jr. entered into eternal rest on April 27, 2020 @ the age of 61. Duffy was born in Hartford on July 8, 1958 to the late, great Charlie Sr. & Marlene (Pertillar) Jernigan.

Duffy was born & raised in Bellevue Square, oldest & only boy in the house. He was known for his charm, hilarious personality and his extreme love for family and basketball. Duffy earned a name for himself, 'Hood Legend', while attending Hartford Public High School, graduating Class of 1977. The superstar received multiple accolades such as All American, All State Champion, and MVP of Hartford's All Star game. He was later inducted into both HPHS Basketball Hall of Fame and Pearl St. Basketball Hall of Fame, paving the way for his sons, nephews and so many others.

Amongst game time, family time was Duffy's favorite pass time. From the Jernigan's family gatherings, to attending his son's college games, to pestering his little sisters, to the special visits from his grands & great grands, to commenting on his niece & nephews posts from his many, many Facebook pages.

Duffy leaves to cherish him in his memories his five children, Rhonda and Randi (Boo) Franklin, Charles III, Richard and Aleta Jernigan; Six Grandchildren, Jazmin, Ja'Kyra and Jovan Franklin, Cayden, C'Hennedy and Charles IV Jernigan; Two Great Grandsons, K'Sin and K'Lin Octave; Sisters, Carlene, Cindy and Charisse Jernigan, Yvonne White (Duane Sr.) Fourteen Nephews and Four Nieces; Four Aunts, Marjorie Gill (Monroe Sr.), Olivia Taylor, Yvonne King (Garry) and Janet Bolling; a special friend Vicki Guinyard. Besides his loving parents, Duffy was predeceased by his two little sisters Claudene 'Deena' and Michele Jernigan.
