Zelma Marguerite Wooten, 63, of Bloomfield, CT and formerly New Orleans (until Katrina), passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. She is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Perry, Bloomfield, and Alma McCormick (Bruce), Windsor, nieces, nephews, aunts, many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by parents Dezzie and Benjamin Wooten Sr. and her brother, Benjamin Wooten Jr. Zelma attended Mandeville Rosenwald school, Chahta-Ima and Mandeville High Schools and Meadows-Draughon College prior to a clerical career with the Department of Energy. Homegoing services celebrating her life will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at International Gospel Fellowship Church, Windsor. Interment will follow at Mountainview Cemetery. Visitation is 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
