Yvonne Marie Groves, 62, was born on January 28, 1961, in Hartford, CT. On February 14, 2023, she departed this life surrounded by her loving family. Yvonneattended the Hartford Public Schools and was an employee of the State of Connecticut as a CNA provider for many years. She was predeceased by her loving parents Samuel and Angeline (Andrade) Williams-Bey.
Yvonne leaves to cherish her memories two children, son Alex Jerod Williams-Bey (Hartford), daughter Suni Monique Williams-Bey (Manchester); four grandchildren Malachi Ashai Williams-Bey, Carter Kauren Brown, Aniyah Alexis Williams-Bey, and Judaea Samuelle Brown; one great granddaughter Londynn Sky Williams-Bey; seven siblings Fliesmina Jackson, Rosalyn Williams-Bey, Jaqueline Williams-Bey, Renee Gaston (Leonard), Lorrie Huguley, Mia Schand (Mark), Salam Williams-Bey (Debbie); godchildren Shyne Shakes and Chaz Wright; devoted friends Alex Groves, Tasha Oliver, and Regina Arango-Jones; cousins Wyatt Ward (Bloomfield) and Beulah Smith (Maryland); as well as a tribe of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her brother Dexter UrseyWilliams-Bey, sister Jennifer Ann Williams-Bey, nieceSelina Williams-Bey and nephews Chan Williams-Bey,Kendall Williams-Bey, Jeffery Acoff Jr., and brother-in-law Horace Huguley.
Yvonne was a dedicated member of Impact Church where she was active in the Pioneer’s ministry. She played an integral role with Impact Academy’s annual toy and coat drive. She was a vibrant worshiper and she loved going on church trips and attending fellowship luncheons and accompanying Pastor Porter on preaching engagements. She was truly an impactor, always praising the Lord, always supportively encouraging everyone around her.
Yvonne, also known as “Call Me Girl”, she enjoyed party planning by creating memorable moments for family and friends. She was a loving understanding mother and no matter what her kids knew she had their backs! Yvonne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her heart was devoted to her grandson Malachi. She was an all-around family person. She had a calm soul, did not take nonsense, she was understanding, and had natural jokes. Yvonne was outgoing, she would gather family members to attend the “ENBLANC Worship” or simply plan an outing on a hot summer day to the local pool.
God rewarded Yvonne with her wings on Valentine’s Day. She was everyone’s Valentine’s Day gift from God. He gave us all the special gift of LOVE!
