Willie Rabb

Willie (Fats) Rabb, 92, of Hartford passed away Monday May 8th, 2023. The son of the late David and Fannie (Thames) Rabb. Willie was born in Freemanville, AL on March 23rd, 1931. Willie was one of nine children growing up on their family farm in rural Alabama. After serving in the US Army, he relocated to Hartford CT in 1955. Willie worked at Capitol Farm (Hartford Provision), New Britain CT, until he retired in 1994. Those left to treasure Willie's memory include his wife Hattie Rabb of Hartford CT; sister, Veronica Rabb of Douglasville, GA; his children Essie Pearl Ford (Brian) of Irmo, SC, Mary Murrell of Hartford, CT and Jeff Nixon of Hartford, CT. His four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, one great -great grandchild. and other nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents David and Fannie (Thames) Rabb, Son Obie Morgan Sr. brothers, David Rabb, Jr., Henry C. Rabb, R.S. Rabb, and R.C. Rabb, sisters, Gloria ‘Cille’ Witter, Earline Rabb, and Merline Rabb. His services will be held on Friday, May 19th at the All Faith Chapel located at 90 John Fitch Blvd South Windsor CT 06074. The family will receive friends from 9-10a.m. for his calling hours and immediately following will be the funeral service. The burial will take place at State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT 06457.
