Willie Sylvester Amos (Bill), 96, of Bloomfield, CT, Beloved husband of Lillie Amos, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2024, surrounded by family. Born on April 25, 1928, in Mobile, Alabama, son of the late Charlie and Ruthie Mae Amos. He came to Hartford, CT in the early 1960’s. Prior to his retirement, Bill was in the military, Army based and fought in the Korean War, then later was honorably discharged. He also worked in construction for over 50 years. When he retired, he enjoyed cooking, playing cards, watching Westerns (esp. Gunsmoke and Rawhide), "going to work" on scratch offs and being amongst family and friends. He was also a member of the Greater Hartford Springfield CBer’s Club, (Golden Nugget & 665 were his CB Handles). His love for his family was unconditional. He was always telling jokes and stories to his wife, daughter and grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to his grandson “Recording Artist '', Pxrry’s music and watching his grandkids dancing (in videos and in person). Besides his loving and faithful wife, Lillie, of over 50 years, he is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Patricia Amos-Mapp and her husband Perry Mapp Sr. of Bloomfield, CT, his devoted Stepson, Murphy (Rosemary) Hines of New Orleans, LA., His awesome Grandchildren; Michael Slaughter of Detroit, MI., Perry Mapp Jr., Quiandre’ Mapp and Shatasha Mapp, all of Hartford, CT and his great granddaughter, Ja’Zyah Mapp of Windsor, CT. He also leaves 3 devoted sisters-in-law, Mary Green of Hartford, CT, Claudia (Curtis) Davis of California, and Maggie Greene of Bloomfield, CT. Bill also leaves a devoted extended family: Annie Richardson, Dionna, Travis and Tyrone Mapp, Kimberly Bridges, Michael “Big Mike” Hanson and Alexis “Electric” Hawes and the Original TGO Family.
