William Coleman Jr, 64 years old of East Hartford, departed from this life on Thursday morning, November 21, 2024 from a long battle with cancer.
William (aka Billy and uncle Bill to everyone) was born on July 19, 1960 in Hartford, CT to the late Mr. William Coleman Sr. and Mrs.Lutisha Jackson-Coleman.
William was raised in Bellevue Square in the early 60's and 70's.
William was very athletic in his youth. He participated in The Bellevue Square Boys Club boxing under the instruction of Trainer Johnny Duke. He also was a member of The Bellevue Square Marching Patrol. He also had an interest in photography in his youth and received some training as a high school student. He was a graduate of Hartford Public High School and attended Faith Congregational Church as a child.
William relocated to New London where he lived for over twenty years. He worked in healthcare as a Nursing Assistant at Harbor Village for over fifteen years. He loved taking care of all patients in the facility. It was at this time when he moved to East Hartford with his family and remained there. He loved sports and was a big New York Giants fan. He also loved comedy, was very funny and had a great sense of humor. His favorite comedian was Richard Pryor and favorite music artist was Michael Jackson. William was a family-oriented person. His desire was for family to get along. His finest memories were of growing up in Bellevue Square. The community (village) was so rich in love that "We Never Realized That We Were Poor"
William was predeceased by his son, Dominick Angel Coleman; brother Jeffrey Coleman Sr and nephews: Jeffrey Coleman Jr. and John Stevenson.
William is survived by his children whom he loved and cherished:
Shenica (Karon) Coleman-Williams, William J Coleman, Twin daughters: Nashema and Lashema Coleman, William A Coleman; step daughter Minerva (Mimi) Martinez, grandchildren: Karon Williams Jr, Nasir Lollar, Jaiyla Coleman, Nylah Coleman
Aryanna Lollar, Willow Coleman, William A Coleman Jr and great grandson: Karon Williams III.
William is also survived by his siblings: Portia Jackson of Glastonbury, Thomas Coleman of East Hartford and Sally (Robert) Bell of East Hartford, childhood best friend: Bobby Parkman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was the best Brother, Son, Grandfather, Uncle and Dad!! Rest in peace Billy!
