Violet Josephine Tucker

Violet Josephine Tucker, 109, affectionally known as Nana or Aunt Vie, of Windsor, CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10^th, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on December 29, 1908 in Westmoreland, Jamaica W.I.  She immigrated to the U.S. in the early 50’s and pursued a career as a cook until she retired in 1985. She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Tucker, and her son, George Jackson. She is survived by her sister Catherine Lisle and husband Rosco of the UK, daughter Mryna Tucker, daughter-in-law Iona Jackson, grandchildren Michael Perry and wife Pamela, Robert Perry and wife Somerth, Joseph Jackson, Marcia Jackson of the UK, Julie Ramirez, Angela Jackson and Wayne Jackson. She was fortunate to have many great grand and great-great grandchildren and a host of other beloved family and friends. A celebration of Violet’s life will be held on Friday, January 26^th at 10:00 A.M, Immanuel Congregational Church, 10 Woodland St. Hartford, CT.  Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT.
