Vanessa Leigh Ward

Vanessa Leigh Ward, 51 Born in Hartford, CT to Henry L. Brown of East Hartford, CT and Sharon V. Shuff of South Windsor, CT on November 5th, 1971. Vanessa was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 16th, 2023. Vanessa was a resident of Meriden, CT for over 20 years with her Husband John Ward Sr, who she leaves behind. Vanessa got married on February 25th, 1999, which she cherished whole heartedly. She attended and graduated from Weaver High School in Hartford, CT. Her family meant the world to her and there wasn’t a day she went without letting us know how much she loved us. She was a dedicated member of New Gethsemane Church.  She also leaves behind four beloved children, Leonta Ward, 24 of Bloomfield, CT, Jassontae Ward, 23 of Manchester, CT, John Ward Jr., 21 of Manchester, CT and Jalon Ward, 20 of Manchester, CT.

She was a beautiful Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Great-Aunt, Cousin and Friend. She loved all of us and finished every conversation by saying it. Vanessa was known for her laughter, dancing and listening to music, talking on the phone, and enjoying every moment. She was very loving, protective, friendly and dedicated.

She was predeceased by her Grand Parents Hattie Brown, Golden Henderson, Richard Johnson Sr. and Rose Johnson. She is survived by her husband, John Ward Sr. Step Son AZ Fitzpatrick Of Meriden CT, her children Leonta Z Ward Bloomfield CT, Jassontae Ward, John Ward Jr and Jalon Ward Of Manchester Ct, her parents Henry and Monica Brown East Hartford Ct, Sharon and Terry Shuff South Windsor Ct, her siblings Tanya Brown, Kevin Green Sr Bloomfield Ct., Audrey Brown Manchester Ct, Brad Jones East Hartford Ct and Christopher Brown Manchester Ct, Joyce Cobra of Henrico Va, Ayanna Henry of East Hartford Ct, her Nephews Kairon Barrett and Kevin Green Jr, Of Bloomfield Ct  her Niece Brittany Jones East Hartford Ct And Great Niece Kai-Lynn Barrett of Detroit Ma, and a host of Aunts, Uncles cousins and friends to mention.
