Stephen Payne Obituary

Stephen Mark Payne, Jr., affectionately called “Lil Stephen” or “40” by his family, was born in Hartford, CT on August 9, 1990, has completed his earthly assignment and was called home to be with God on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

 Stephen loved his family unconditionally, especially his children! He was known for his big personality, bright, and sunny smile.  He was always loving, fun, and witty.  Stephen had a genuine love for people, and a big passionate heart.  As a child Stephen attended MT. Olive Baptist Church,  where he was baptized, and very involved in the youth ministry. 

 Growing up Stephen had a strong passion for sports, especially football. Stephen enjoyed playing the Saxophone, and was gifted in reading music.  Stephen loved to dance so much he  earned the nickname “Milly Rock”. Stephen attended  University High School of Science and Engineering. He was employed at Price Rite in Windsor. He also worked for Staffmark and Labor Ready where he had ongoing assignments.

 He leaves to cherish his memories his loving parents, Laverne Gibson and Stephen M. Payne, Sr., two children, daughter, Makyla Willis, and son, Sy’Ahjn Payne-Milner and special love Kasheena Milner, four sisters, Shakira Gibson (Miguel), ShaRonda Richards, and Shamekea Payne, all of Hartford, and Jazmin Montyana of Portland, OR, two brothers, Jonathon Montyana of Portland, OR, and Nigel Jessamy of Hartford, his paternal grandmother Mrs. Arnena S. Payne, affectionately known as “Nana Nena”. Stephen also leaves a devoted  aunt and  uncle , Rose Payne-Greene and Earle Green, special cousins-siblings Paul, Tenisha, and Leroy. His best friend, Isaiah Shipman and a Godfather, Victor Prude, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Stephen was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather, and infant son, Stephen M. Payne, II.  He was predeceased by his grandfather, Richard N. Payne.

The love Stephen Mark Payne Jr., shared with all of us will be Everlasting!
