Stanley Jorge Sikora, 71 of Vernon, CT passed away peacefully at his home on Monday September 2, 2024.
Stanley was born on September 25, 1952, to Stanley and Adeline Sikora in Hartford, CT. After graduating from high school, Stanley went on to serve in the US Army from 1971-1974, he was stationed in Germany and worked as an auto mechanic. He was a Sharpshooter and received a National Defense Service Medal.
When he left the Army, he continued his work as an auto mechanic for Bordens Dairy for many years, and then moved on to Sealtest. After years of buying Snap-on tools, he became a Snap-on dealer. His true love was being a mechanic, so he returned to that trade.
Stanley enjoyed taking Taekwondo, singing Elvis songs, walking in the woods, and apple picking at Lyman Orchards. He also enjoyed watching football, basketball, and Nascar. He was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt. He would take his kids to Lyme Rock and Riverside to watch the races.
On Father’s Day he enjoyed renting a pontoon boat with his kids and grandkids, they were always on the lake by 7:00AM. He was a master at making “Sikora” pancakes, and there were never any leftovers.
Stanley is survived by his three children, Stephanie Sikora, Sonya Sikora, and Stanton Sikora. His son in law, Jibril Karriem. His extended family Emily Sikora. Four grandchildren, Monica (26), Anthony (19), Jaden (19), and Ava (5). Viviana (5) who had a special place in his heart and called him papa. His unofficial granddaughter, Yasmeen Alexander.
Stanley is also survived by his brother Steven Sikora. Sister-in-law, Evelyn Sikora. His aunt, Donna Brown, cousins Gina, Tommy, and Mark. The Cresser family, cousins who growing up were always together. Nieces and Nephews; Ryan Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Alyssa Sikora, and Amanda Sikora.
Stanley was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Adeline Sikora, stepfather Ernst Benson, his sister Sophie Ward, and his son Stanley Joseph Sikora.
The family will receive condolences at the All Faith Memorial Chapel, South Windsor, CT on Tuesday September 10, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:30AM, Memorial Service will start at noon, burial immediately following, CT State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT.
