Russell Richardson

Russell Richardson, 82, of Hartford, CT, passed away on January 29, 2022, after a courageous several year battle with cancer.  Affectionately known as Hoody, he was born on October 15, 1939, in Johnston County, NC to the late Silas and Madie (Debnam) Richardson. Russell attended Johnston County Schools, and he moved to Hartford, CT, in 1959 where he resided until his passing. He retired from Comfort Bedding /Blue Bell Mattress Co., and he continued to work as a big rig truck driver and security until 2020.

Russell enjoyed reading, driving and spending time at the casino. He loved to try new food and would venture out to local restaurants several times every week.

Russell leaves to cherish his memory his son, Anthony Richardson (Corleen) and granddaughter Antonia Richardson of Clayton, NC, sisters Shirley Watkins of Knightdale, NC, and Nellie Boseman (Reginald) of Augusta, GA; brother Douglas Richardson (Lillie) of Hartford, CT; special niece Theresa R Biscette; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Russell was preceded in death by his loving parents; sisters Alice Richardson and Katrina Vick and brother Charles “C” Richardson.

A memorial to celebrate Russell’s life will be held in June 2022. The Family of Russell Richardson wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation, the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown during the illness and passing of our beloved Russell.
