Randi Jermaine Gunn, 43, of Hartford, Connecticut departed this life on July 30, 2024 at Saint Francis Hospital. The beloved son of James Gunn and April Smith he was born January 22, 1981 in Hartford and was a life long resident. Known for his vibrant personality and a heart made of gold. Randy was the life of the party. He loved family gatherings where his infectious laughter and love for life brightened every room he entered. His favorite color was blue, reflecting his calm yet strong, charming presence with a great love for the blues music.
As a young man, Randy had a flamboyant dressing style that outshined anyone that was around him earning him countless compliments where ever he went. His personality was as bold as his fashion, making him the fun-loving person he was. later in lifehe became the proud father of a beautiful baby girl also named Randii, affectionally called “New- New”. She stole his heart from the moment he laid eyes on her. She became the love with his life and transformed his world where he was now called daddy. He traded his flamboyant style for an apron and family life, spending countless hours, baking cakes, and creating cherished memories with his daughter and family.
Randi was known for his love for cooking cleaning telling old stories and making jokes all living in his one of a kind voice. He even had his own unique language that only he spoke and few understood, a testimony to his playful, kind and creative spirit, which we all loved about Randi was everything to his family. Besides his daughter and parents he leaves to cherish his memory, his Twin sister Brandi Gunn brothers Kevin Johns (Monica), Patrick Gunn, Tyrone Gunn, Ernest Gunn, Leonard Gunn, Eric Gunn, Alfonso Knight, Anthony Gunn, James Gunn, Whitney Gunn, Kevin Mills, Lee Hardy and sisters Carolyn Knight, Dacia Gunn And Janice Martinez (Stephen), 3 special nieces, Dajahtai, Kamari and Khloe Gunn, nephew, Daquane Nearly, a great NephewZaire Briscette, Eight aunts and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins and friends, he was loved by many. Randi was predeceased by his paternal grandparents T.D. Gunn, and Ora Mae Gunn, his maternal grand parents Harry Hughes and Florence Smith, a brother Derek Knight, his life will be celebrated at the MT. Olive Church Ministries 20 Battles St. Hartford on Thursday August 15 @ 11 am with viewing from 10 am. Burial will be in MT. Saint Benedict’s Cemetery Bloomfield, CT.
