Naomi Smith (Davis) born in Athens, GA on November 23, 1941, to the late Lynwood H. Davis Sr. and Florence (Stark) Davis. A Graduate of Hartford Public High School where she played on the girls' basketball team. She is survived by her loving daughter LaShawn M. Smith. Naomi was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, a member of the Elks Club and an active member of the Northend Senior Center.
Naomi enjoyed traveling and visited Hawaii, New Orleans, Jamaica, Barbados, Puerto Rico, and Alaska. She loved bowling, playing cards, playing Pokeno and her favorite pastime was BINGO. She loved spending time with her family especially on the holidays. She enjoyed listening to Rock & Roll, Jazz and the Blues. Let's not forget her sexy moves on the dance floor. She loved to watch a good boxing match or a good football game which were her favorite sports.
She worked at the annual dress sales at Sage Allen Department Store in Downtown Hartford and Anderson Laboratories in Bloomfield, CT. She retired from Hartford Hospital after 35 years of service as a Dietician Specialist.
Naomi leaves to cherish her memories of nine grandchildren, Sandra Martin, Samone Martin, Sharonne Martin, Trey Armstrong, Myrtle Middleton, Glenn Davis Jr., Dyshawn Davis, Vincent Harrison and VaShaun Harrison. She leaves 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. One Brother Charles Davis and three sistersReverand Amelia Smith, Celestine Davis, Patricia Harrington (Edward) and a special sister-in-law Patricia Davis. Naomi also leaves to cherish a host of nieces and nephews.
Naomi was predeceased by her son Glenn Allen Davis, Sr., her sister Delores Maranita Davis, Lynwood Davis, Jr., Edith B. Davis, Eric Davis, and Ernestine Johnson. Her niece Sandra Bell (Davis) and her companion of 50 years Plato Williams.
