Marlene E. Carter, 78, passed away peacefully as a resident of Kimberly Hall in Windsor, CT on Sep. 10, 2018. Marlene was born Jan. 10, 1940 in Winston-Salem, NC. She arrived in Hartford as a young girl and attended Weaver High.
She was married to John Carter Jr. in June 1959. They settled in Bloomfield around 1965. She worked as a Dietary aide for 25 years, retiring from Hartford Hospital. She was predeceased by her Husband of 29 years, siblings James Taylor, David and Gloria Whiting.
She is survived by her sons John Carter III (Nedra), Ricky Carter (Liz) and Mark Carter; Grandchildren Nathan Carter (Ingrid), Orlando Carter (Kayla) and Kaya Carter; Siblings Ronald and Donald Taylor, Robert Taylor, Michael and Jonathan Whiting, Ester DeVos (Gary), and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment will be at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation in her name.
