Marcus J. Curry Sr, 52 of Manchester, CT passed away surrounded by family and friends peacefully on October 20, 2016. He was born June 21, 1964 in Marion, AL. He is preceded in death by both of his parents John R. Curry and Bertha L (Gooden) Curry.
Marcus attended Thomas Snell Weaver High School in Hartford, CT where he became "Margo" spinning records for he school radio station 89.9 WQTQ-FM.
If you knew Marcus, he loved two things. Showing off his cooking skills and singing. You could call him and ask for any recipe and he would give you detail for detail on how to make it. He also had a voice that would make you stand at attention when he started singing. He was in love with music and made everyone around him love it just as much.
Marcus was a true sports fan. He played baseball for the Hartford Orioles in his early years and he coached or should we say shouted on the AAU sidelines. The Oakland A's, LA Lakers, North Carolina Tar Heels and a diehard fan of America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Marcus leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Caloris "Beanie" Curry, his life-partner, Sarita Stallings; daughters Taja Monique Curry, Michelle Bridges, his sons Marcus J. Curry, Jr. and Marcel D. Curry. His grandchildren Marcus Curry III, Rasheed Bridges, A'mya Bridges, Maleah Curry, Makalee Curry, Erik Curry and soon to be Maisie Michelle Curry. His grandfather Claude J. Curry. His nieces, Kalayah Curry and Nautica Stallings, nephew Everette Stallings. His best friend John Carter and God kids John Jamal, Tanisha and Nakeya Carter. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
