Lois Ricketts Obituary

Lois Elaine Ricketts, 60, of New Haven, CT was called home on Thursday December 29, 2022 at Hartford Hospital.

Lois was born on July 17, 1962 to Florence Roberson and Theodore Van Allen in Hartford, CT.  She attended Weaver High School and after graduating, studied computer programming at CPI (Computer Processing Institute).  During her earlier years she relocated to West Palm Beach, FL and then to Los Angeles, CA before returning to Connecticut where she eventually settled in New Haven.  Lois served as an Assistant Registrar for the city of New Haven and also served as an active member at City Church-New Haven. 

Lois is predeceased by her mother Florence Roberson, father Theodore Van Allen, step-mother Ethel Van Allen and brother Theodore Van Allen Jr., all of Hartford, CT.  She is survived by her children: Ebony Skyers, of Hartford, CT, Donovan Ricketts of Hartford, CT, Chad Ricketts of New Britain, CT, Sean Ricketts of East Hartford, CT, Maisha Smith of Vernon, CT, Aliyah Muhammad of Hartford, CT, and Chelsea Robinson of Tampa, FL.  She is also survived by her siblings: Donna Ricketts of New York, NY, Charles Barrow of Hartford, CT, Randolph Ricketts of Warner Robbins, GA, Eleanor Ricketts of Windsor, CT, Ephraim Ricketts of Hartford, CT,  Sarah Ricketts of Warner Robbins, GA, Barbara Browne of Randolph, MA and Julia Hinchliffe of Manchester, CT along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
