Lillie Amos Obituary

Lillie Ruth Amos (Mommy) , 78, of Bloomfield, CT., passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, May 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on April 17, 1947 in Vidalia, GA, daughter of the late Henry and Lucille Green. She came to Hartford, CT in the 1960's.

Lillie worked several jobs, including Pratt & Whitney, Aetna, Companions & Homemakers, just to name a few. She was also a foster mom for several years and the best babysitter anyone could ask for. She was a boss, and a beast in the kitchen, even down to her last job where she was the head chef and the heart of her own home restaurant “Grandma’s Kitchen”

She enjoyed listening to music, especially gospel music, (Lee Williams) and her grandson Pxrry., playing her lottery numbers and spades (she was undefeated), cooking for everyone (she would feed the whole neighborhood), going for rides with her baby sister to Consignment shops, etc., talking on the phone to her oldest sister in LA., her sister-in-laws, family members and friends. She checked on everybody as often as she could.

In her spare time, Lillie was introduced to YouTube where she loved watching various police pursuits, the little Asian kids fishing, cartoons, Pastor Gino Jennings and cooking tutorials. And just like her husband, she was a member of the Greater Hartford Springfield CBer’s Club (Lady Silverbell was her handle).

Lillie is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Amos-Mapp and her husband Perry Mapp Sr., of Bloomfield, CT; 3 grandchildren, Perry, Quiandre’ and Sha’Tasha (her little angel) Mapp, all of Hartford, CT., and her great-granddaughter, Ja’zyah Mapp (Peaches), of Windsor, CT.

She also leaves 2 devoted sisters, Claudia (Curtis) Davis of CA., and Maggie Greene of Bloomfield, CT., 2 sister-in-laws, Mary Green of Hartford, CT and Jessie Mae Green of Vidalia, GA., 3 loving nieces; Caroland, Kathy and Nicole. 4 cherished nephews; Jerome, Kevin, Dwayne and Jordan. and a host of great nieces and nephews, whom she loved and cared for dearly.

She also leaves devoted friends; Georgia, Anita, Pearl, Dolly & Emil, Rosalyn & Garland, to name a few and an extended family: Annie and Travis Richardson, Dionna and Tyrone Mapp, Tayvon Smith, Kimberly Bridges, Danielle Mullings, Michael Hanson, Alexis Hawes, and the original “TGO” family.

Other than her parents, Lillie was predeceased by her brothers - Joe, Elijah, Emmitt, and Marion; sisters - Inez, Lizzie and Susie., 2 nephews - Bernard and Anthony and 1 niece (whom she raised as her own) - Sherry, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
