Lena Gladys Goforth

Lena Gladys Goforth, 54, of Hartford passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at her home. Born in Hartford on January 27, 1962, she graduated from Weaver High School in 1981. She received her certified nursing assistant license in 1995 from Capital Community College. She worked as a CNA for 21 years where she touched many lives. Lena worked at St. Francis Hospital for 15 years and before passing she worked at Brookdale Assisted Living.

She was predeceased by her father Harry May and brother Edwin Goforth. She leaves behind her mother Janet (Wilson) Goforth; her daughter Tiffany Hughes and son-in-law Rashawn Hughes. Her siblings Doreen Goforth, Latanya Goforth, Wayne Goforth and Michael May. Her nieces Ashley Woolcock, Caylyn Marshall, Micheline Hodges and Yolanda Bazemore; her nephews Andre Marshall, Michael Hodges, Preston Shelton, and D’Marcus Shipman. She also leaves many extended family members and friends.Lena would do anything for her family or friends. She will always be remembered for her generous and caring spirit. She will definitely be missed.
