Layfayette Shell Obituary

Lafayette Shell, 70 of Hartford, CT, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 8, 2020 after a long and hard-fought battle with illness. He was born on April 10th, 1950 in Jenkinsvillie, South Carolina to Annie Lee and Wilbur Shell Sr. Lafayette relocated to Hartford and had resided there for the last 50 years. He was employed as a presser at several cleaners for many years before becoming disabled.

Lafayette was friendly and fun loving, embracing everyone he met with a smile.  He truly believed in the good of others and no matter the struggles leaned toward a positive way of living and viewing life.  You could depend on him to bring laughter in light to any situation and his determination and positivity were steadfast.

 

Lafayette is predeceased by his parents Annie Lee and Wilbur Shell Sr, his brothers Carl Michael Shell, James C. Shell, Cedric B. Shell, and Leroy W. Shell. Also by his sisters Willie Mae Crumpton and Dorothy M. Brown.  He is survived by his siblings Luvenia Wadlington (Eddie) of Converse, Texas, Wilbert Shell Jr. ( Faye) Of Nashville, Tennessee, Melvin Shell (Darlene) of Converse, Texas, Samuel Shell (Sara) of Kentucky.  A God Daughter Leslie of East Hartford, CT.  He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to remember his life. 

 

When it looks like the sun wasn’t going to shine anymore, God put a rainbow in the sky. 

The family of Lafayette Shell will always remember his laugh, his spirit, and his love.
