Laverne Beatrice Gibson

Laverne Beatrice Gibson, affectionately known as "Lovey," was born on February 7, 1962, in Hartford, Connecticut, and peacefully departed this life on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at her home in Bloomfield, CT, at the age of 61.

Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Carroll Gibson and Ahmed Gibson Sr. She is survived by her three loving daughters, Shakira (Miguel), ShaRhonda (Shurland), and Shamekea Payne; two sisters, Gina Gibson and Sharon Gibson; one brother, Ahmed Gibson Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousin-siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Laverne was preceded in death by her only son, Stephen Payne Jr., and her sister, Renee Gibson.

Laverne dedicated many years of her life to gainful employment at the Hartford XL Center and Hartford Yard Goats, where she was known for her dedication and hard work.
