Kevin (Pop) Robinson, 58, formerly a resident of Hartford, passed away peacefully at his home in Windsor on Friday, April 28, 2023. Pop was born on September 25, 1964 and grew up in Hartford. He was the son of Mattie Robinson, but was raised by his loving grandmother, Vera Robinson.
Pop had a great personality and a funny sense of humor and made friends wherever he went. He loved the outdoors and could often be seen riding his bike all over Hartford. He recently worked as a security guard at Power Tabernacle Ministries (PTM) in East Hartford, Ct. He also worked with Mama J. Catering on the weekends and was a loyal employee.
Pop was predeceased by his parents, Mattie Robinson and William Carey, Sr., his Grandmother Vera Robinson, brother, Floyd Robinson, and sister, Supora Lee Turks. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his Sisters, Deborah Ann Carter, and Gwen Carey. Brothers, William (Butch) Carey, Jr., Thurlow (LoLo) Carey, and Kenny Robinson.
Uncles, Arthur (Bo) Robinson and Cleveland Robinson, Aunts, Carrie Robinson, Ruby Brown and a special aunt, Deobrah Owens, who always there for him. He also has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friend, Robert (Robin) King and a special shoutout to Janet Reid, who became a very supportive and dedicated friend to Pop over these last 6 yrs.
A memorial celebration of Pop’s life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the New Nutmeg Lodge( Elks Hall), 171 Bellevue St., Hartford, Ct.
