Obituary
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Pastor Joyce Elaine McFarquhar.
Pastor McFarquhar was born to the late Estella Mckie on July 16, 1940 in Kingston, Jamaica
After leaving Jamaica she relocated to New York where she worked as an elementary school teacher, Pastor McFarquhar soon moved to Hartford, Connecticut where she permanently resided until her passing . Pastor McFarquhar passed away peacefully after a short illness on February 11, 2023 at Avery Heights nursing facility in Hartford. A strong powerful prayer warrior who was faithful to her local church (Gospel Lighthouse Apostolic Church), her pastor , Bishop Winfred Hamlet and church family. Known for doing good and helping everyone she came in contact with.
Pastor McFarquhar leaves to cherish her memory a host of friends and neighbors, but especially her caregivers: Hassan Asued, Shanda Robinson, Linda Little and Minister Roeshell Sciaraffa.
Special honors are given to her life long friends whom she spoke with daily, Miss Mavis of Hartford,Ct and Marlene Tucker of New York.
Pastor Mack as called by all will be greatly missed. Sleep on Pastor, take your rest. Service well done.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, CT.
