Jodie Murray Obituary

Jodie Ann Murray passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, very unexpectedly and suddenly. She was only 19 years old.

Jodie, aka Jojo was born on May 4, 2002, in London, England. Her parents migrated from Jamaica to the United States of America (USA) when she was only 2 yrs old. Jodie grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut, but lived in Bloomfield, Connecticut during the latter years of her life.
Jodie was a talented makeup artist and was extremely intelligent and smart. She devoted herself to learning various hairstyles and makeup techniques and she lived for fashion, which she—like any other Generation Z’s (Zoomers)— would share with the world on her social media platforms. Jodie loved anything pink or purple and was a true dainty girly-girl.

In her short life, Jodie Ann understood the importance of education and she excelled in her academics. She was also very artistic and creative in many ways. Jodie graduated and attained her high school diploma in the summer of 2020, during the COVID -19 pandemic, from Bloomfield High School (BHS) in Bloomfield, Connecticut.

Jodie was also an incredibly hard worker. She took a year off after her high school graduation to work and earned enough money help around the house, support her fashionable lifestyle and to purchase her first car. She worked at Lowe’s Home Improvement before she began a new found passion to work with children. Her most recent role was at the Educational Playcare, Childcare and School for Young Children in Windsor, CT, where she worked as a Childcare Worker. Jodie anticipated attending Capitol Community College, in Hartford CT this fall to begin her path as a Child Psychologist; she was truly looking forward to this new journey and starting school in the fall.

Jodie is survived by her parents, Ms. Lesline Ducheine and Mr. Paul Murray, and by her older sisters, Chevel, Charlene and Nickalia Murray; Youngest sister, Khalani Murray; Oldest brother Tevin Murray; younger brothers, Travis, Trevon and TayQuan Murray. Jodie also leaves behind her Maternal grandmother, Ms Beverly Peart; Paternal grandfather Mr. Vincent Murray; aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, friends and loved ones. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at (viewing at 11 a.m.) and service will begin at 12noon at the Trinity Community Church of God, located at 609 Franklin Ave, Hartford CT. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Bloomfield, CT. All are welcomed.
