JoBelle Womack

JoBelle Womack, 86, of Hartford, Connecticut, departed this life on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Hartford Hospital.

JoBelle was born on September 28, 1935 in Raleigh, North Carolina, to the late Joseph and Carrie Belle Tucker. She moved to Hartford, CT in the late 1950s and in 1957, she married the late Ezelle Womack, Jr.  JoBelle was self-employed and retired in 2015.

She joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in May 1976 and was baptized in July of that same year. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive and served for many years on the Ladies’ Ushers and sang with the Voice of the Mount Choir.

To cherish her memory, JoBelle is survived by her son, Ronald of Hartford; granddaughter Tiffany Womack-Daly of West Haven, CT; one brother, Alton Bernard (Dinah) Tucker of North Carolina; four sisters, Elnora Sanders, Rebecca White, Gail Moore, and Ernestine Green, of North Carolina; a special daughter Theresa Davis of Manchester, CT; special friends Ruby Perry, Gracie Lewis, Eva Lawson, Celeste Anglin, Joan Allen, Diane Stephenson, Carole Hogan, and Rev. Willie Alexander; and a host of relatives and friends.
JoBelle was predeceased by her husband Ezelle Womack, brother Raymond Earl Tucker, and sister Mamie Lee Tucker.
