Jinnie V. (Figgers) Stephens transition to be with our Lord on June 22, 2016 at the Hebrew Healthcare, West Hartford CT.
She was born August 03, 1940 from the union of the late Henry and Ora Bell(Dubose) Figgers in Waynesboro, Ms.
Jinnie was taught Christ and accepted him at an early age, she was a member of the Sweet Hope M.B Church Waynesboro Ms. and Peace Missionary Ministries in New Britain, CT. She relocated from Waynesboro Ms. to Stamford, CT for a job opportunity and eventually relocated to Hartford, CT. Throughout the years while raising her children, she held various job titles and her last employment prior to her retirement was as a CNA.
Jinnie was a very private person and was often miss understood because of this. She loved her family. It was very easy for her to make friends. She valued her freedom, independence but, if you were too much in her business she didn't mind letting you know. Many people confided in her knowing she could be trusted.
Jinnie was predeceased by her one and only beloved son, Elbert Lee Thomas, her brothers, Woodrow, Melvin, Woody, Clinton, brother in laws, Ray McNeal, Vergil Powe, Jerry Sargent and Monroe Neal, sisters, Rosa Sargent and Barbara Powe, sis in law Raynola Figgers.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Patricia Miller, New Britain CT and Sharon Thomas, Bloomfield CT, her brother Calvin Figgers and wife Carrie, Waynesboro Ms. her sisters, Ida McNeal, Irma Johnson and husband Percy all of Ohio and Joanna Neal of Waynesboro Ms., sister in law, Dorothy Figgers of Ohio, grandchildren, Shatina, Shamia, Jaquan(Briea),Sasha, Curtis, Leith, Dorian, Amber, Jamile, Joshua, Jordan and Savannah, and 15 great grandchildren. God daughter, Jenny Arrington and Special cousin, Jessie Mae Arrington. A multitude of nieces and nephews.
