Janice Amber Welcome

 

 

Janice Amber Welcome, also known as Lady J, of Riviera Beach, FL was born on December 24, 1950 in Harlem, New York to the late James Welcome and Paralee Wigfall. She became a resident of the Hartford area in 1963 where she became part of the Stowe Village neighborhood community, she was a graduate of Weaver High School. Janice relocated to the Palm Beaches in the 80’s where she was employed by the Palm Beach County School (PBC) Board for nearly two decades as a devoted and loving caretaker to the all the children, she encountered in the PBC School Board System. Janice loved conversing with her friends on Facebook daily, hanging out and shopping with her beloved son Jason Bell. She loved watching Equalizer, Chicago P.D., and her Reality Shows. Lady J, hobbies included the painting game on her iPhone app, reading, taking daily walks, laughing, joking and “keeping it real” in her words.

Janice leaves to cherish her memories her loving sons Jamal Woods and Jason Bell, daughter-in-law Niesha Wood, adorable grandchildren Kiara Woods, Brittany Woods, Deondre Watson, Qmarious Henderson, Jayliana Woods and Janyla Bell; as well as two great-grandchildren Anyla Woods and Kyrie Woods. Janice will be deeply missed by her devoted nieces Ebony Smith and Vicky Sutherland, as well as, her devoted lifelong friend Althea Monts Powell. Also cherishing her memories are her sisters Willette Welcome, Deborah Welcome, Gail Watson, Alva Watson and Laurita Watson. Janice was proceeded in death by her 2 sisters Paula Watson and Theresa Welcome Wells, 1 brother Charles Watson.
