Henry L. Monroe, Jr. 69, of Hartford, CT, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2026 at home.
Born on August 28, 1956, in Hartford, CT, Henry was the beloved son of Doris Monroe. He graduated from Bulkeley High School and went on to pursue a military career with the Air Force.
Henry was known for helping family, neighbors, and going fishing with friends.
He is survived by his sons Gabriel (Lacey) in Washington state, Jeremy (Jennifer) in South Carolina, Javon and Jashaun in Virginia. Henry is also survived by daughters Jasmine in Virginia and Bambi. He leaves behind a sister, Patricia (Tom) of Windsor, CT. Henry leaves behind his 12 grandchildren: Gage, Lennox, Christopher, Kayden, Roscoe, Jamaal, Michael, Skylar, Jayceon, Jaylon, Jayden, and Jaeloni. He also leaves behind 2 great-grandchildren: Oliver and Grayson. Henry leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Brenda and his father, Deacon J. Henry Monroe Sr.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Hopewell Baptist Church located at 280 Windsor Avenue, Windsor, CT.
