Especially to his paternal grandparents, Carlye and Myrtle Brathwaith, they saw the sun rise and set on him. As the first grandson, Gregory was well-loved, and cherished. Even after moving to the United States as a young boy, he spent each summer with them in Barbados.

Gregory would often feel the pull of his native land, the siren song of the island of his birth. But eventually, he settled in Connecticut. There he transitioned into a successful career in the insurance industry with SunLife, where he was admired for his professionalism, character, and easy-going charm.
During his life, Greg was, a loyal son. Often, helping his mother with household projects. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. This came from his great love of engineering. Greg was a loving brother. He was always there for his siblings, with help, advice, or just a listening ear. He never judged. Greg was, also a devoted father to his daughter Chamyra, who he loved so much. Greg was also a great friend, neighbor, and relation, whose impact will not be forgotten. Greg was a man of quiet wisdom and deep interests. He had a great love for technology, military history, and especially fishing — a pastime that brought him peace and joy.
Gregory is survived by his mother, Marjorie Ruth Douglas; his stepfather, Alvin Bruce Douglas; and his beloved daughter, Chamyra Rolyce Washington.
