Gertrude (Young) Cooke, 75 of Windsor, Ct. entered eternal rest on March 21, 2026. Born in
Columbus, Georgia on September 15, 1950, to the late Cornelia Campbell. She is survived by
her loving daughter, Stephanie Cooke, cherished grandson, Rashad Faust, granddaughter,
Paige Andrews, and two great grandchildren, Rasharie and Noah Faust. She was pre-
deceased by her daughter, Sharon Cooke.
Gertrude was a Christian and a proud devoted mother who loved her children and
grand/great children exceedingly. She was always there for them offering love, support,
encouragement and wisdom.
She worked for Pratt &and Whitney as a Quality Assurance Inspector and retired in 2015
after 32 years of dedicated service. She will forever be remembered for her class, creativity,
and elegance, particularly reflected in her impeccable sense of style. Whether through her
carefully chosen attire when she shopped (something she loved to do), her fine interior
design techniques or how she dressed her children, her keen eye for fashion was evident
and reflected her sophisticated taste in every aspect of her life. All who knew her can attest
to her gifts and talent.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at First Cathedral Church,
Bloomfield, CT. A wake will be held from 10:00 am, followed by her celebration of life
at 11:00 Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor.
