In 1944, Steve Harris, Sr. moved his family from Augusta, GA. to Hartford, CT. when Eva was seven years old. After graduating from the 8th grade, in order to help her family Eva had to leave school to find a job.  In 1971, she started working at The Sisters of St. Joseph’s Convent in West Hartford, CT. as a Dietary Aide until she retired in 1999. During retirement until her passing, Eva enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her pride and joy has always been her grand children. Since the late 1970s, Eva was a devoted and faithful member of The New Antioch Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
