Eugene Battles Obituary

Deacon Eugene Battles was born on May 25,1958 to Essie Lee Gray and Hazel Battles in Quincy, Florida.  He was raised by his aunt, Agnes Stephens, whom he lovingly called “Mama”.

Deacon Battles moved to Hartford, CT in the early 1970’s.  He worked for Rizzo Pool as a concrete finisher for many years.  He surrendered his life to The LORD in 2005 and became a member of Hartford Faith Tabernacle.  He accepted the call to the office of a Deacon on November 29, 2013.  He became a Deacon at Fishers of Men Ministries on June 09, 2019 - where he faithfully served until his death.

He was predeceased by all his parents; One son: Chris Dozier; One grandchild: Jaemee Weaver; and His Siblings:  Agnes Fudge, James Earl Battles, Williebell Cash, Alexander Robinson, Michael Battles and Wanda Battles.

Deacon Eugene Battles leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife of 22 years, Cheryl Battles of Hartford, CT; Four daughters: Regenia Battles of Massachusetts, Jennifer Battles of North Carolina, Erika Battles of Pennsylvania, and Aiesha Carter of Hartford, CT; One son, Leaveil Binion of Alabama.  Thirteen Grandchildren: DeCorey Battles, De’Annia Burgess, DeAsia Watkins, Devayah Scott, Willie Watkins, Navia Stevenson, Nazier Powell, Jemari Whitfield, KingTriston Griffin, QueenTrinity Williams, PrincessShamaria Scarlett, and Zaylaysia Weaver; Nine siblings: Jacqueline Brown, Hazel Battles Jr., Nathanial Battles, Jeanette Dilworth, Hattie Smith, Williemae Smith, Viola Vannerman, Deloris Smith and Theresa Smith all of Florida; CJ Dozier and Cameron Dozier of Alabama.
