Erica Maria Smith

Erica Maria Smith of Windsor passed away quietly in her sleep on Friday, December 13, 2024, in Waterbury, CT. She was born in Hartford on November 9, 1987. She was the firstborn child of Gus Smith III and the late Juana Maria (Camacho) Smith.

After graduating from Windsor High School, she went on to study Art at Manchester Community College in Manchester, CT.

Raa-Raa, E-Boogie or just Erica, always had a smile, a joke and her infectious laugh that lit up any room she was in. Erica had some physical ailments that hindered her but never kept her down. She loved the simple beauty of anything she saw. She was interested in visual arts by taking pictures with her camera. Whether it be a tree trunk at the park or a tractor at the landfill.

When Erica was Baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1998. She sang in the Children’s Choir at Glory Chapel Interdenominational Church in Hartford, CT, where she also continued to love music. Erica also played the flute and the guitar for some time.

She leaves to mourn in her passing, her parents, Gus Smith III and Gerri Renee Smith of Windsor, her Grandfather Domingo (Gloria) Camacho of Florida and grandmother Althea Monts of Bloomfield, Her brothers Aaron Michael Smith (Gina Letourneau) of Windsor, Jermaine (Dionna) Owens of Enfield, Sister Stacia Lawson of Windsor, Aunt Vivian Diane Smith of Ohio, Uncle Lawrence Martin (Cassandra) Smith, Luis (Mirriam) Valentine of East Hartford, Juanito Valentine great uncle James Evans Sr. of Hartford great Aunt Norma Jean Smith of Hartford, Willie Smith of Geargia and John Smith formerly of Hartford. As well as a host of Uncles, Aunts, Nephews, Nieces and cousins.  

She is Predeceased by her mother Juana Maria (Camacho) Smith and her grandmother Gregoria Camacho, her grandparents Gus Smith Jr. and Lillie Ruth Smith both formerly of Hartford.
