Eloise Yelder Simmons

Eloise (Yelder) Simmons, 86 years old, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center, in East Hartford, CT. Eloise was born in Montgomery, Alabama and several years later she moved to the state of Connecticut.  She was employed in the retail industry for many years.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Hartford, CT which is now First Cathedral in Bloomfield, CT.  She served faithfully on several ministries and was known for her cheerful smile and her willingness to serve others. She loved to dress up in nice clothes with beautiful colors which made her feel good inside, and confident in anything she wanted to accomplish.

She was predeceased by her father Gentle Yelder Sr., and mother Magnolia (Harris) Yelder.  Living to cherish her memories are her husband Lonnie C. Simmons of Manchester, CT., her sisters, Carrie Rollins, and Dorothy Yelder of Montgomery, AL., along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
