Elizabeth Aponte Obituary

Elizabeth Aponte 78, also known as “Grandma Peggy” and “Titi Peggy” went into God’s loving embrace & has joined her daughter, mother, and brothers on June 18, 2023. Elizabeth was born in Manati, Puerto Rico on December 1, 1944. She resided in Enfield, Ct for the past 7 years until her recent move to East Hartford with her granddaughter. She was a member of Saint Anne’s Immaculate Conception in Hartford, Connecticut. Elizabeth was a mother to many, Grandmother, God mother, aunt, sister and friend.

Her profession as a social worker for the state of Connecticut is something she carried beyond her workplace as she cared for and helped many people in her life, especially children of all ages. Elizabeth loved to sing, dance and bring joy to your day. 

 

She is survived by her 2 siblings, Evelinn, and William; son, Antonio; 3 grandchildren, Erik, Crystal, and Elizabeth; 5 great-grandchildren, Nazir, Izahia, Nevaeh, Isyss, and Messiah in Connecticut and Puerto Rico. 

 

She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces, Kira Jasmine, Clark, Roseline, Jamie Crystal, Jamie, Melanie, Natalie and Ismael jr. Elizabeth was predeceased by her mother Rosa; father, Monserate and 5 brothers, Ismael, Israel, Rueben, Moises and Juan.

 

The family also extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all the medical personnel that assisted in her care before, during and after her passing.
