Dorothy Knight-Howard Obituary

Dorothy A. Knight-Howard, 82 of Hartford, Ct. departed this earthly life after a brief illness on Monday, November 16, 2020 at home. Dorothy was born in Newark, NJ on October 27, 1938
to the late Essie Knight and Dave Saxon.
Dorothy was educated in the Hartford School System and a graduate
of Weaver High School. She loved singing for many years she would perform at the Elks Club on Canton Street in Hartford, Ct. Dorothy worked for Dr. Ned Hickmon for several years as a medical assistant,
in which she loved and was loved by all who entered those doors,
she always had a caring heart aa bright smile and a comforting word
that would ease the anxiety level for all that enter into the office. The Medical arena was her passion once she ended her tenure for Dr. Hickmon she worked for the Visiting Nurse Association of Hartford, Ct. before retiring and relocating to Virginia, Beach. Upon returning back to Ct., she enrolled into the St. Joseph Seminary School where she received Certificate of completion. Dorothy then found a new passion when she became a member of the North End Senior Center where she rekindled with a lot of old friends, if the center was opened, Dorothy was there.
Dorothy loved worshiping at Grace Worship Center Church of Hartford, Ct, she would smile and shake her head every time she attend service saying how Great Bishop Hodge preached and “oh man 1st Lady Hodge could sang,” momma really loved her church family.
Dorothy (mom) will be sadly missed by her 4 children, John Pearl(Yvonne), Johnna Walker, Joi Pearl and Jordan Pearl (Judy) all of Hartford, Ct., One sibling, twin sister Daisy Knight and a great sister/ friend, Joyce Evans. She leaves to mourn a host of grandchildren, great grand children, which she LOVED IMMENSELY, nieces, nephews
and friends.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, her husband and love of her life, George Howard, brother Rudy Knight & Uncle Bobby Knight.
