Diane (Jackson) Moore

Diane Jackson Moore of West Hartford CT passed away on July 23, 2025 at the age of 88. Diane was born in Hartford CT on September 9, 1936 to the late Joseph and Modell Jackson.

In the early to mid 1960s Diane worked as a switchboard operator for Southern New England Telephone. She moved to the San Francisco Bay area in the late 1960s where she continued to work as a switchboard operator for the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company. After the passing of her sister Alice Jackson Siblas in 1974, Diane returned to Hartford to help raise her two nieces. She worked at the Hartford Sheraton and various real estate companies in the Hartford area. After her retirement, Diane moved to a senior community in West Hartford CT where she lived quietly for over 25 years. She had a close circle of friends and was known as “the lady with the green thumb”. Diane could grow anything. Besides indoor gardening, she also enjoyed painting, drawing, photography, listening to jazz, and physical fitness. Until a few years ago, Diane led the senior exercise group in her community.

Diane is survived by her son Brian Moore and, her Grandson Raphielle Johnson. She is predeceased by her daughter Valerie Moore Johnson, her brothers Joseph Jackson Jr., Harold Jackson, William “Bill” Jackson, her sisters Elaine Jackson Morris, Alice Jackson Siblas and, nieces and nephews.
