Devonte Tyler Cole

Devonte Tyler Cole, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 21. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on October 8, 2003, Devonte was a vibrant soul who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A proud graduate of Conard High School, Class of 2021, and former student of Braeburn Elementary, Devonte was a young man with a fearless spirit and many passions. He poured his heart into music, found creativity in welding, and had a deep desire to help others in his own way. He was a loyal brother and friend, a jokester who could light up a room, and someone who always stayed true to the things—and people—he cared about most.

Devonte’s strength wasn’t always loud, but it was unwavering. After losing his mother in 2022, he carried the weight of that grief with quiet courage, still showing up for the people he loved. Loyal, sharp, and always ready with a joke, he brought comfort through laughter and depth through his presence. His energy left an imprint you couldn’t forget—equal parts warmth, wit, and heart.

Devonte is survived by his father, Lenworth Cole Sr.; his brother, Lenworth Cole Jr.; his sister, Zainab James; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will live on forever.

May his soul find peace, and may we continue to honor him by loving fiercely, laughing often, and staying true to who weare—just like he did.
