Derrick T. Owens

Derrick T. Owens "Rico or 106", 58, of Glastonbury, CT departed this life on Monday, March 5, 2018. He was born September 4, 1959 to Mary Ann Owens and the late Edward (Popsie) T. Owens. He worked many years at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, downtown Hartford, CT. He will forever be remembered for his love of cooking, fishing and most importantly writing and playing music. Derrick leaves behind to cherish his memory seven children, Minaren, Michael, Tabbie (Evelyn), and Brandy Bozeman, Kendall Robinson, Cheyanne Smith and Sidney Owens. Three sisters Kimberly (Sandra), Robin, Cheryl and three brothers Terrence (Mary), Carlos and Shawn Owens. 12 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grand. He also leaves a host of loving relatives and numerous friends. And special friends Gail Gant, Dale Smith, Kevin Harrison, Anthony Latimer, Kevin Lee, and Esther Williams. He was predeceased by his daughter Shelby Owens. His family will receive friends on Saturday, March 17, 2018, 10am (wake) service at 11am, Anointed Tabernacle of Jesus Christ, (Elder Lamar Belcher), 24 Leggett Street, East Hartford, CT. All Faith Memorial Chapel (90 John Fitch Boulevard, South Windsor) in charge of service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army, Hartford, CT.
