Derrick O. Cranford

Derrick O. Cranford, Jr. of Manchester, Connecticut departed this life on October 27, 2023.  Derrick was born on December 10, 1994 in Hartford, Connecticut to Derrick O. Cranford, Sr. and Toni Lowe-Cranford.

Derrick was baptized as a baby by his aunt, the late Overseer Annie L. Carter of Ebenezer Holy Temple, Inc.  Derrick attended and graduated from Hartford Public Schools in 2013. He was also a huge gamer who loved exploring IT and discovering the world of IT and all that it had to offer.  At the time of his death, he was employed at  Travelers Insurance Company.

Derrick’s proudest achievement was the birth of his son, Kaiden.  He spent countless hours with Kaiden, teaching, introducing and, instilling the world of IT and gaming.  He loved his son, more than life itself and would do anything to ensure his thriving childhood.

Derrick leaves behind his parents, Derrick O. Cranford, Sr., and Toni Lowe-Cranford. 1 sister, Chelsea L. Cranford, his son, Kaiden Amir Cranford, La-Taisha Lumpkins-Ealy, mother of his son, his Godmother, Karen D. Oliver, and his best friend Chazz Bouyer, whom he entrusted as Godfather to Kaiden.  He also leaves his aunts, Jacqueline (Harold) Sandiford, Pamela Floyd-Cranford, all of Manchester, CT.  Edythe (Herbert) Gray of Wethersfield, Shawntay Major of East Hartford, Connecticut, and Lynda Carter of Hartford, Connecticut.  Uncles, Kevin (Nyema) Cranford, Manchester, Connecticut, Timothy Cranford, Sr. of Windsor, Connecticut, Emmanuel Oliver, and Anthony (Melissa) Cranford, both of Hartford, Connecticut.  Derrick also leaves many cousins, and friends, all of whom will miss him greatly.

Derrick was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Eva Lowe.    Paternal grandmother, Louise Cranford.
