Dennis William Gomes

Dennis William Gomes, 76, of Hartford, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at home after a short battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Sharon (Camby) Gomes, father of two lovely daughters Denise Gomes-Boyd and Darlene (Gomes) Smith. Dennis was born on May 13, 1946 in Hartford, CT.  He was a long time employee of Stanadyne Corporation with over 25 years of service before retiring.  Dennis enjoyed fishing, cooking and watching all sports on tv; he was a die hard NY Giant and Yankee fan.  Even though Dennis was a homebody and loved his peace and solitude, he truly enjoyed attending family gatherings and the company of his loved ones, playing bid whiz and listening to old school music.  He was a good man, he knew how to make you laugh and would help you out if he could.  Dennis was a wonderful husband, a loving father, grandfather and great-grand father, brother, cousin, nephew and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and daughters, he is survived by sisters Marie Bryant, Lorraine Keaton, Sharon Gomes, Lucretia Gomes, brothers Stephen Gomes, Kevin Gomes and Aric Gomes, grandchildren Trai Julian Camby, Darnika Gomes, James Boyd, Darius Smith, Lynn Boyd, Devin Smith, Jasmine Boyd, Deandrea Smith, Alaila Thomas, great grandchildren Amoni Gomes, Ashley Lawson, JaBree Mangnum, Laafi-Yelle Crowder, Kh'air Smith and Zharie Hunt. Predeceased by his parents Rose Mae and Charles Gomes, brother Warren Gomes and son Trai D. Camby all of Hartford, CT.
