Dannette Lucian Cornelius

Dannette L. Cornelius, a vibrant spirit who cultivated deep connections and touched many lives, departed this life on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Born in Hartford on July 9, 1956, Dannette brought warmth and dedication to all who knew her.

Growing up in Manchester, Connecticut, Dannette cherished her time at Manchester High School, where her voice resonated in the school choir. Her early spiritual foundation was laid at Hopewell Baptist Church in Hartford, where she was an active young member.

Dannette embraced life's journey, living in diverse and exciting locales including Brooklyn, New York, Hawaii and Berkeley, California, before returning to her roots in East Hartford, Connecticut. Throughout her travels, Dannette had a remarkable gift for building community and ensuring she was always surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Upon her return to Connecticut, Dannette became a devoted member of The Upper Room Christian Center. There, she shared her talents with the choir and actively participated in the Missionary Team, embodying her caring nature.

A loving and dedicated sister, sister-in-law, and the best Auntie ever! Dannette will be deeply missed. She possessed a unique ability to forge lasting friendships and create welcoming communities wherever she resided. Her kindness and unwavering support will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Dannette was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Luanna C. Blagrove, and her father, Daniel Cornelius. She leaves behind a cherished family: her brothers Darryl (Amy) Blagrove and Dale Blagrove (Anthony) John Cornelius; her sisters Bridget Simmons and April Cornelius; and her niece, Alexandria Blagrove, who was Dannette's heart beat of life! Her memory will also be treasured by her many cousins and countless friends.
