Cornell Jermaine Evans, age 43, born October 1, 1978, to Zethalyn Evans and the late Jerry Hall, was unexpectedly taken from us on August 10, 2022. Cornell was born and raised in Hartford, CT.
Cornell was given the nickname of Cornbread, by his babysitter Ginger. He attended the Hartford Public Schools for a while, Cathedral Regional School and Bloomfield High School. Cornell won first place in an Oratorical Contest at Clark Street School where he was introduced to the boxer, Marlon Starling. He played basketball at Bloomfield High. He played in the 3 on 3 Tournament in Hartford, CRS 1990, and came in 1st place. Cornell bowled in the junior league at the Meadow Lanes in Hartford, CT.
Cornell enjoyed being around family members, having a good time at cookouts, weddings, birthday parties, and graduations. He was a handyman, anything you needed done, ask Cornell. He was an outgoing, fun-loving man, and he loved his children dearly.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his children, Jaquoan and Yola Evans, Dexter Dempson, all of port Richey, FL. His mother Zenthalyn Evans of Canton, Ohio. Uncles, Willie Evans (Denise), Robert Evans III, Donald Evans, Thomas Evans, all of Hartford, CT. David Hall (Nelida) of Murrell’s Inlet, SC, Richard Hall, Eric Hall of Hartford, CT; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, loved ones. He was preceded in death by his Aunts, Cynthia Evans, Mary Evans and his uncles Bruce Evans and Nathaniel Hall. Leon Hall his paternal and maternal grandparents. Our hearts are heavy and filled with sadness. Cornell will be missed forever.
