Charlotte "Big Momma" Strachan

Charlotte "Big Momma" Strachan, 90, of Hartford, passed away Monday February 29, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital. Born December 12, 1925, to the late Minnie Clark and the late Spencer Scales in Windsor Locks, she leaves to mourn two daughters Laverne Strachan and Shirlene Edwards; one son Robert Jameson; one brother Spencer Scales; one sister Yvonne Scales. She was predeceased by two sons Nathaniel Jameson and Vincent George Edwards Jr.; one daughter Gaylene Strachan; one sister Barbara Davis. Charlotte also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Charlotte was truly the rock of her family and friends! Charlotte spent many years serving the community while employed at the Community Renewal Team (CRT) in Hartford. Her family will receive friends and family on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 10 - 11am at All Faith Memorial Chapel (90 John Fitch Blvd, South Windsor) followed by funeral services at 11am, also held at All Faith Memorial. Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in East Granby. Flowers and words of encouragement can be sent directly to All Faith Memorial.
