Candace E. Burrell

Candace E. Burrell, of South Carolina and currently of Hartford, CT by way of East Orange, NJ was born Candace Elizabeth Martin in Jenkinsville, SC on June 23rd 1921 and was the second eldest of six born unto her parents Robert and Plumie Mar-tin. Now most would find it almost impossible to stand out being one of six children but Candace had a way of living that made life look easy. In 1939 she gave birth to her one and only child Mary Ruth Copeland. Candace lived a life that was simply insurmountable both in the number of years and in the amount of love and adoration she receive and bestowed. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her Husband, Daniel Burrell,, her sisters Lola Payne and Willie Mae Anderson, her brothers Charles (Charlie) and Robert (Taylor) Martin and her granddaughter Rodella Copeland. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ruth Copeland of Hartford, CT; her only living brother, Rev. Bejamin Martin (Edna) of Hartford, CT; her grandchildren Candace Hamilton of Hartford, CT, Jacqueline Johnson (Kevin) of Irvington, NJ, Marqquita Copeland of Chesterfield, VA, and Keri (Mechelle) Copeland of Chesterfield, VA. Her great-grand children who refer to her as GG Mommy, Amelia Phillips (Jerome) of Hartford, CT, Deneeka Hamilton-Reid (Courtney) of Hartford, CT, Moses (Jerrell) Copeland of Hartford, CT, Keyoina Hill of Hartford, CT, Ashley Copeland of Vir-ginia Beach, Virginia, Jasper (JJ) Hill of Waterbury, CT, Breah Clay-Bey of Hartford, CT and honorary great-grandson Robert Ogarth of Waterbury, CT, and her great-great grandchildren who refer to her as 3G, Jahron Phil-lips of Hartford, CT, Justin Phillips of Hartford, CT, Jakobe Hill of Waterbury, CT and Jeremiah Peddie of Hart-ford, CT. Funeral services will be held for Candace on July 24th, 2014, 12 noon with calling hour 11 a.m. at All Faith Memorial Chapel in South Windsor CT. and the burial will be held at Rosedale Cemetery in Orange, NJ.
