Brendelyn Williams Obituary

Brendalyn (Brenda) Adams Williams, 67, of East Hartford, CT transitioned peacefully at St. Francis Hospital on Wednesday February 21, 2024. She was born to the late Samuel and Virginia Adams (Thompson) on March 15, 1956 in Winnsboro, SC.

Brenda eventually move to Hartford, CT where she attended Weaver High School. She had a daughter, Tracy (Peanut) Adams. Brenda would go on to work many years as a housekeeper at Clarion Inn & Suites in Manchester, CT before becoming a Certified Nurses Aide. She then work for 20 years as a CNA, dividing her time between Manchester Manor and Brookdale Home Health in West Hartford.

Brenda was a dedicated and faithful member of New Life In Christ Holy House of Prayer, East Hartford, CT - under the leadership of Bishop L. Thompson - for the past 32 years.

Brenda served as the first President of the New Jerusalem Usher board where she remained a hard worker for many years. She was never ashamed to talk about the goodness of the Lord and because she would often do so during testimony services with such passion and great detail, the bishop would refer to her as a “Professional Testifier”.  Brenda would often participate in the church yard-sales and members looked forward to shopping at “Brenda’s Boutique”. She was also recognized for many years as one of the top workers in the church’s financial programs.

Known as Granny and Pattyduke. Brenda was a Diva who had an eye for fashion and style. She loved shopping at consignment shops, Savers being a favorite, and on many Saturdays she could be found making her way to various tag sales!

Brenda had a big heart and she loved doing for others; especially children. Her unique laughter was contagious and her feisty personality never stopped her from speaking what was on her mind.

She leaves to cherish her memory - A daughter, Tracy (Peanut) Adams. A husband, Keith Williams. A close aunt, Margaret (Auntie) Morrison. A brother-like cousin, Michael Thompson Sr., who was known to her as “Money Man”. A sister-like cousin, Jeannina Thompson. A godson, Roy Clemons Jr.  A goddaughter, Vernetta (Deserae) Fothergill. A close friend, Cedric Newman. Close friends, Novelette, Madeline, Sandra , and Valerie. And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
