Mr. Arthur Lee Evans, Jr was born to the parentage of the late Arthur Lee and Carrie Bell Evans inPlains, GA. on March 8, 1938. He was the second oldest of twelve children. He attended school inPlains, GA. At the age of 18 years old, he moved to Hartford with his great-grandmother the lateMollie Hardy and his grandmother the late Susie Williams. In addition to his loving grandmothers, hewas also embraced by his late Uncle Marzell, Uncle Curtis, Uncle Effin, Aunt Cora (Uncle Herschel),Aunt Lillie (Uncle Willie James), and Aunt Georgia (Uncle Cleveland).
Arthur Lee affectionately known as “Big Bro” resided in Hartford until his death on August 19, 2023.He was employed at Procacini and Sons as a truck driver until he retired. Arthur Lee was very special to his family. He was a friend and a supporter for his family. He was a very meek, gentle spirited person.
He is preceded in death by his son Lance; two brothers Marzell Evans, Freeman Evans, two sistersMae Bell Evans, Buelah Mae Evans, two sister-n-laws, Cynthia Evans, Freddie L. Evans and brother-n-law Clifton Adams and cousins Rosa Bell Battle, Dennie Evans, Marcellous “Teddy” Evans and Henry Frank McGarrah.
Arthur Lee “Big Bro” will be missed by all his loved ones including a special friend Carol Dyson.
