April Denise Green

April Denise James-Green 53, of Hartford, Connecticut departed this life on Thursday, January 10, 2019 in her home. April Green was born to Irene James and Donald McDaniel on November 7, 1965. 

April graduated in 1983 from Farmington High School in Farmington, CT. She worked at UCONN Medical Center as a Medical Records Assistant for 10 years, Hispanic Health Council as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, bus driver for Laidlaw/Dattco before her health declined. One of her final accomplishments was to go to Branford Hall where she graduated as a Medical Assistant. Over 26years ago she joined the Church of the Most High God in Hartford, CT where she served on various committees. She faithfully served on the Usher board, Sunday School Preschool teacher, Youth Worker, Church anniversary committee, Pastoral Anniversary Committee. She was the Coordinator for the Tutoring Department, Caring Committee, Foodshare, Sewing Fellowship, Woman walking in their purpose fellowship and served as a Missionary. 

She always stated that she was a different kind of missionary. Her mission was to witness single moms and broken hearts. She would take many people into her home, assisted single moms with necessary items and even baby sit their children while they would like for jobs and etc. Sometimes it was just her concern for others which almost always ended with an embracing hug. 

April was predeceased by her parents Irene James Jones, Eva and Leonard Fredericks and her son Kerry Allen James and her grandfather Eddie James. 

April leaves a legacy of love and cherishing memories to her father Donald McDaniel, New London, her husband Richard Green, Hartford, CT, her sons, Kenneth A. James, Boynton Beach, FL. Terrelle J. James Sr. Hartford, CT. Her grandchildren Bri’elle James, Terrelle James Jr, Ari’elle James and King Kairo Bell all of Hartford, CT. Six siblings Gloria James, Neapolis Jones, William Jones, Wayne Jones, Irene Jones and Michelle Owens (Gerald) all of Hartford, CT. Her God-sister Tina James Gaddy, her godchildren Breanna Jackson, Shaun Jackson. 

A host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and special friends that loved her so dearly. 

A special close friend Kenneth Thornton and her baby, her dog “Ma Lady.” She considered Melvin Chapman Jr., Sylvester Turner Jr. as sons and Jamar Searight as grandson.
