 Evans Elton Forde, 80, went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 23, 2020. He was born in Barbados on July 28, 1939 to Samuel Forde and Eurlie Beckels. Evans worked for Stanadyne Automotive in Windsor, CT for 37 years as a machinist and retired in 2006. Evans was a quiet spirited man. Evans met Rosalie in 1984 and they married seven years later in 1991. He loved to go to Dunkin Donuts with his brother and friends. He had a hearty appetite and loved eating good food. Evans also loved to play dominoes and was considered a “serious player”. Evans also loved music and was a great dancer. He was a sharp dresser, and usually matched from head to toe. Evans loved his family and would often sit and talk about his family back in Barbados. Evans found joy in watching basketball and football. Evans was a longstanding Hartford resident and member of the Barbados American Society of Hartford, CT. 

Evans was predeceased by three brothers Vernon Forde and Oscar Forde of Hartford, CT; Neville Ramsey of Bloomfield, CT; and two sisters Geraldine Forde and Lenora Forde of Barbados. Evans leaves to cherish his memories a wife Rosalie E. Forde of Hartford, CT; two brothers Llewellyn Yarde (Claudette), Wyatt Jones (Dorothy) of New York; a sister Ilene Green of London, England; four daughters Annette Forde of North Carolina, Angela Cumberbatch of Barbados, Linda Blount of Florida, Robin Gomes of Hartford; a son Warren Gomes of Rhode Island; and a special and devoted nephew Junior Miller (Gloria). He also leaves grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Evans will be sadly missed by many.  Burial will be in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT.
